The Newspaper Industry

A newspaper is a publication intended for a broad audience that appears regularly, often daily,

and claims to contain factual accounts of recent events. Newspapers are usually published with

the intention of making a profit. Frequently, their factual content is accompanied by

advertisements and nonfactual material intended for entertainment.[1]

Despite the booming success the newspaper industry once had, the rapid growth and

popularity of web-based technology caused a sharp decline in the success and circulation of the newspaper industry. Hundreds of newspapers locally and nationally have become close to being extinct, but as this is happening, the question remains of whether or not the newspaper

industry will survive in the 21st century where there is a whirlwind of innovative technologies

being created daily.
